BREAKING: Fire Razes Federal Secretariat Asaba, As Police Confirm Incidence

The Federal Secretariat housing offices of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), in Asaba, the Delta State capital has been completely razed down, The Story reports.
According to The Story, Trouble started on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, when passersby and staff who resumed work discovered the inferno.
Trending posts had said the building was set on fire by unknown gunmen, while other sources said it may have been due to an electrical fault.
The NYSC office, located on the 2nd floor of the Federal Secretariat, it was gathered was completely razed by fire.
But in a swift reaction, the State Coordinator, Mrs. Olutayo Samuel, disclosed that the burnt NYSC offices in Federal Secretariat Asaba, was not caused by unknown gunmen, adding that the source of fire is still unknown.
Meanwhile, the police have debunked claims that unknown gunmen burnt the building, saying it must have been due to an electrical fault.
Speaking to Oasis Magazine, the Acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Edafe Bright, said: “The whole place was locked so it is very possible that they put on any of the electrical appliance. There is no access to the place. It was tge corpers’ section and they are in camp. It is possible that it was caused by an electrical issue.”.
