Facebook Scammer Bags 10 Years in Sokoto

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Sokoto Zonal Office on Monday, June 21, 2021 secured the conviction of a Facebook scammer, Murtala Abdullateef, before Justice Malami Dogondaji of the Sokoto State High Court sitting in Sokoto.

Abdullateef was a handed a 10-year jail term on a one count charge, for attempting to defraud foreigners through Facebook while presenting himself as a United States Army General serving in war-torn Syria
