Uduaghan Condoles With The Ayomikes, Tasks Security Agencies On Rapid, Thorough Investigation

Immediate past Governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, CON, has said that he is “heart-wrenched over the barbaric murder of Pa Joseph Ayomike and his dear wife, Dr. (Mrs) Chinyere Ayomike, whose corpses were found in their Warri GRA residence in the morning of today Monday June 28, 2021.”

In.a statement signed by Monoyo Edon, Media Assistant to Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, the former governor said the news was more touching since his wife, Her Excellency, Mrs Roli Sheila Uduaghan is a neice of late PA Ayomike.

According to the statement, he tasked “security agencies to launch a rapid and thorough investigation into the murder of the founder of Warri Choral Society (WCS) and his wife” who, until their death was a senior lecturer at the Delta State University, Abraka.

Adding: “The Ayomikes were very peaceful and quiet people. Why would anyone want to kill them and in the most dastardly manner in which they were killed? This sad event has throne my family and everyone close to the Ayomikes in a state of deep grief.”

Uduagnan continued: “A respected Itsekiri and community leader, Late Pa Ayomike was a renown Economist who graduated from the London School of Economics. He was a very successful business man, especially in the hospitality industry, at various times running some of the busiest restaurants in Nigeria. He was also the founder of Agura Hotel in Abuja. A nationally and internationally reknown organist, he formed the Warri Choral Society, that organised annual programmes in Warri.

“The security agencies have been challenged to do all they can to apprehend and prosecute everyone involved in this murder.”

Late Pa Joe Ayomike was a brother to foremost Itsekiri historian and Chairman of the Itsekiri Leaders of Thought (ILoT), late Pa J.O.S Ayomike.
