Olu Of Warri Corronation: lkolo, Akra, Okotie, Others Make Case For A Peaceful Kingdom

As Itsekiri nation at home and diapora trooped out on Saturday in large numbers to crown the 21st Olu of Warri, Atuwatse lll, Tsola Emiko at Ode Itsekiri, their ancestral home in Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State, illustrious sons of the kingdom who are the trio of Brother Edwin Ikolo who is a member of Ugbarojo Itsekiri, Chevron, the former Principal of Hussey College, Warri, Paul Okotie and others have made case for a peaceful kingdom.

Speaking to news men at the ceremony, Brother Edwin Ikolo said since the newest king in town is energetic, intelligent and smart, the Itsekiri nation is optimistic for a more developed kingdom.

He said it would not be business as usual as the new king is set to put smiles on the faces of the people.

He said: “As you can see, the entire Itsekiri nation is here to witness the newest king in town. He is intelligent, energetic and we hope to have a more peaceful and developed itsekiri nation.”

He said the king would usher in peace as he sets to unite the various groups who are aggrieved in one way or the other to move the people forward.

He added: “We are one nation and people.”

According to him, it is normal to have disagreements on issue such as this but at the end of the day, there is always resolution of dispute.”

On his part, the former Principal of Hussey College, Warri, Sylvester Akra said the Olu of Warri, Atuwaste Ill, Tsola Emiko is ordained by God and he urged him to unite the Iwerre Kingdom.

On those who are aggrieved, he said the position is like a contest, adding that now that he (king) has been coronated, he has to unify the people to give room for the needed growth and development.

His words: “He has been ordained by God and we thank God. Now that he has been crowned, unity is the watch-word. He has to bring economic development to Itsekiri nation and its neighbours and by extension, Delta State”. …He has to unite his subjects because he is a father to all.”

Not left out is Paul Okotie, who expressed joy that the king has been crowned.

He hoped that there would be more peace, growth and development in the kingdom as the new king, though young, would use his wealth of experience to make the kingdom more peaceful, economically viable among the comity of nations.

He therefore advised those aggrieved to forget whatever has transpired and collaborate with the king just as he urged the king to unite the aggrieved persons and work with all to make the kingdom to be good for all.

The ceremony was graced by the who is who in the society among whom are the Deputy Senate President, Barr. Ovie Omo Agege, former Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, among others.
