Ex-Super Eagles Star Calls For Privatization Of Warri Wolves

Following the dwindling performances of the Warri Wolves Football Club of Delta State that eventually led to its relegation from the Nigeria professional football premiership, former Super Eagles midfield maestro, Edema Fuludu ( MON ), has called for the public private partnership ( PPP) of the club.

Edema made the call in a media interactive session with journalists on the issue in Warri.

He reasoned that privatisation of the club would boost the round leader game among talented youths in the state, adding that “It would be difficult for investors to invest in the club at the begging. So, government should set up a template for the public private partnership of the club,” just as he noted that the state government was funding the club without getting the envisaged returns.

Edema maintained that the club was relegated due to poor management, saying that “if things were done the right way, Warri Wolves would not have been relegated.”

Edema said that the football club was the number one professional team in the state, lamenting that its relegation was not a good thing for the state.

“Fans are not happy about it; the state government that is funding it, is not happy about it; Deltans , particularly Wafferians ( Warri people ) are not happy about it ” he added.
