Meet Paul Yonggi Cho’s Successor

After Paul Yonggi Cho retired as the Senior Pastor of the Yoido Full Gospel Church (Assemblies of God) in 2008, Young Hoon Lee succeeded him as senior pastor.

Paul Yungi Cho cofounded the Yoido Full Gospel Church (Assemblies of God) with his mother-in-law, Choi Ja-shil.

According to nobellie.com, Young Hoon Lee was born on 19th of November 1954 in Seoul, South Korea . He joined Yoido Full Gospel in April 1964.

Hoon Lee attended Yonsei University in Seoul and graduated with a degree in theology. After graduating, he proceeded to attend the Full Gospel Theology Seminary (now Hansei University) in Gunpo. He later obtained his Master’s degree in theology from the United Graduate School of Theology at Yonsei University.

He was ordained as a pastor of Yoido Full Gospel Church in 1982. After his ordination, Lee took his education further to Westminster Theological Seminary in the United States where he earned another master’s degree in theology. He obtained his MA and a PhD in religion and philosophy at Temple University.

His journey into Ministry started at Yoido Full Gospel Church in 1977 as a pastor.

In 2009, he became Superintendent of Assemblies of God of South Korea Yoido General Council. He was elected president of the Christian Council of Korea in 2016

Hoon Lee is married to Inja Baek and they have a daughter together.
