Umahi: It’s An Insult On My Person For Fani-Kayode To Say He Made Me Move To APC
Says Former Minister Must Withdraw That Statement
By Daniel Dafe
Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi has countered claims by former Aviation Minister, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, that he (Femi) facilitated the movement of the governor to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Kayode, a guest on Channels TV ‘Politics Today’ programme, on Wednesday, said he was instrumental to the movement of Umahi and the two other PDP governors that defected to the APC, adding that more governors will also move to the APC.
Recall that on Wednesday, Fani-Kayode was received into the APC by President Buhari.
But, on Channels TV’s ‘Sunrise Daily’ live programme on Thursday, Umahi, took a swipe at Fani-Kayode, saying his movement to the APC is to bridge the gap between the centre and his state and was not influenced by the former minister.

“It’s an insult on my person, a whole Chairman of the South East Governors’ Forum for him to say he made me move into the APC,” he said.
According to him, he was also sure that the other PDP governors that moved to the APC also did so without an input from the former PDP chieftain.
“Fani-Kayode must withdraw that statement. He remains my good friend, but he played no role in my movement. He came to visit me but that was after I have crossed over to the APC,” he averred.
