Chief Okechukwu Buries Mother-In-Law
By Daniel Dafe
High Chief Onotu Henry Okechukwu on Saturday buried his mother-in-law, Madam Agnes Esu Ossai, who died at age 82.
The event took place in Umutu, Ukwuani Local Government Area, Delta State.

Speaking to journalists, Okechukwu, a former President of Umutu Development Union (UDU), said the deceased was sick for over a year, adding that they had to wish that she goes to rest because her situation was bad and pathetic.
According to him, Madam Ossai was good to everyone she met, noting that with the intelligent children she gave birth to, she lived a great life.
He called on the family not to grief but always remember that she has gone to rest.
On her part, Mrs Rose Okechukwu (mama’s first daughter), eulogized her late mother, saying she took very good care of her during her growing up days.
“No matter what the storm was, she was always there for me,” she added.

Continuing, she noted that she learnt the virtue of patience from her mother while she was alive.
“She also taught us to be content with what we have and appreciate whatever that my husband presents to me,” she said.
“I miss mostly her prayers, asking me about my children and her grand children. She was always calling me on phone and always asking me “how are you feeling; how are the children?”
She urged family members to take heart, knowing that it is the will of God.
“There is a time to be born and a time to die; it’s the nature of life so we cannot deny it. It has been happening and it will continue to happen and our own is not the last. Just as others have endured their own, we must do same now.
