Okowa/PDP Administration: A Government Built On Lies, Massive Corruption – APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Delta State chapter, has described the Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa’s PDP administration as a government firmly rooted on lies and massive corruption.

It equally raised the alarm over the roles of inflated contracts and low quality jobs singlehandedly awarded by the Governor to his 20 percenters portfolio contractors.

in a statement issued on Thursday morning and signed by Francis Amaechi of the Directorate of Media and Publicity in Asaba, the party further described Dr. Okowa who deceived Deltans with his ” prosperity for all” campaign slogan as a pathological liar, an ethnic champion, wicked administrator who cares less about the general welfare of the inhabitants of the state other than his Owa-Alero enclave.

The party statement further reads; “It is quite unfortunate that the authoritarian Governor Okowa who formally paraded the title of a ‘roadmaster’ yet cannot construct good roads in the State amidst the billions of naira that accrue to the State coffers from federal allocation and IGR as a man without conscience.

While wondering how he sleeps at night in view of his unprecedented failures, especially the revelation that during the lockdown, Marylyn Okowa, daughter of the governor and SSA on Girl Child, was given N400m by his father Dr. Okowa. Now the Governor again budgets One billion two hundred million naira (N1.2 billion) to his daughter “SSA Girl Child Empowerment Office” in the 2022 budget currently before the State House of Assembly.

“Why should governance be reduced to family business? Deltans are living in abject poverty and his family members are reportedly sharing our commonwealth and acquiring mansions everywhere” This money could have been used to improve the lives of ordinary Deltans. Okowa has been in power for six years and Deltans has been trapped in downward spiral needless and squalid poverty”.

“To us in the APC, if such a Governor, initially in error nicknamed as the road master and the only asset of PDP, cannot deliver on his electoral promises of providing infrastructural projects for Deltans, paying gratuities to retirees inspite of the over #1.7 trillion his administration has received since inception, it simply means, he came into power through propaganda and deceit which could be termed an advanced fee fruad (419).

The party stressed that due to high profligacy and sometimes deliberate looting and mismanagement of the State’s resources, the Okowa/PDP government has failed to address the needs of the ordinary people who ought to be impacted with basic amenities and good governance which has eluded the State overtime.

The statement added that Okowa has earned the title of “Mr. Liar” by merit and that the Delta state PDP, led by another jester, Kingsley Esiso, is also practicing democracy of deceit, lies, high-tech looting and outright fraud just like his master. “More importantly, PDP in Delta state should be in sober reflection over the shame and untold hardship it has launched on Deltans for the past six years unprovoked.

The APC described the PDP several lies that projects are scattered all over Delta state as not only irresponsible and false, but represent the height of the Okowa’s penchant for window dressing.

“We call on the PDP to stop embarrassing Deltans and our dear state by weaponizing lies and making it as official government policy

“That is one of the reason the Chairman of University of Lagos branch of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), a Deltan, revealed on Channels Television on Tuesday that Delta state is proliferating the state with universities but failed to pay salaries of staff of its pioneer university in Abraka. Fact is like a smoke, it cannot be hidden,” the statement added.

The party thanked His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, for his unrivaled performance through the facilitation of legacy projects and for his massive infrastructural revolution as Senator elected to represent the good people of Delta Central and which he has extended across the State, scoring Omo-Agege high in all standards for surpassing the bench mark of development compared to Okowa’s deceitful PDP led administration with enormous state resources in its control.

Finally, the All Progressive Congress said, posterity will be eternally ungrateful to Gov Okowa and the PDP for making Delta state look abysmally ill-nourished in terms of developmental projects and responsible governance.
