UPDATED! Former Commissioner For Housing In Delta Is Dead

A former Commissioner for Housing, Arch. Joseph Ajirioghene Ogeh, is dead.
The deceased served as Housing Commissioner in the first tenure of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.
It was gathered that he collapsed at about 3am on Sunday at his residence in Warri. He was said to have been confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital he was rushed to for medical attention.
Ogeh, who was in his 50s, was said to have held a political meeting with friends until 1am on Sunday.
The deceased was also a former commissioner representing Isoko ethnic nationality on the board of the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Commission (DESOPADEC) before his appointment as commissioner for housing.
He was seeking to contest for the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Delta South Senatorial District in 2023 general election.
His death occured barely 24hours after Isoko Nation also lost a renowned historian and former Delta State Commissioner for Education, Prof Abednego Ekoko.
Several politicians of Isoko extraction including two serving lawmakers of the Delta State House of Assembly – Kenneth Ogba and Tim Owhofere – have also recently died.
Meanwhile, Ossai Ovie Success, Special Assistant to the Governor on Special Duties, disclosed that the deceased, who hails “from Isoko and a well respected political leader is a chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party and has held several positions in Delta State.”

According to him, “just yesterday he concluded arrangement to host members of the People’s Democratic Party in Isoko today.”
Adding: “As I speak now, food, drinks are ready based on the meeting he was supposed to be hosting today before death came calling.”
