Youths Barricade Sapele-Benin Road Over Deplorable State
By Ambrose Ologide
Commuters that plied the Benin-Sapele Road were stranded as the bye pass section of the road from the Sapele axis was barricaded by youths of Ogheghe Community on Wednesday November 24, 2021.
Some of the protesters explained that the action was carried out to draw the attention of the concerned authorities to rehabilitate the highly deplorable road.
Others alleged that the failed portion of the road had claimed lives, adding that a heavy duty lorry had knocked down and killed two indigenes of the community the previous day.

Some of the protesters seemed to have protested against the rich, noting that the gap between the rich and the poor was getting wider by the day without government at the various levels in the country doing anything about it.
Some commuters who spoke to journalists complained that they had missed their flight due to the protest.
No security agents were seen in the area during the civil unrest to possibly disperse the protesters.
