2023 DTHA Race: Faith Majemite’s Antecedents Speak Volume Of Her —Kokori Community

Ahead of 2023 Delta State House of Assembly election, the people of Kokori community in Ethiope East LGA, Delta State, and others across Ethiope East have said that, the antecedents of Ethiope East House of Assembly hopeful, Hon Chief (Mrs.) Faith Majemite when she was Chairman of the local government speaks volume of her, adding that she is qualified to run for the seat to represent Ethiope East constituency.

One of the indigenes of the community, Mr. Oke Umururu who spoke to newsmen said that when Hon. Mrs. Majemite was the chairman of Ethiope East local government council, she rehabilitated the Erhanaka bridge which helped to reduce the problem faced by farmers especially in the raining period that made the road very difficult to ply.

According to Mr. Oke, the bridge which was rehabilitated to ease the transportation of the farmers produce from their base area, came as a result of the desire of the former council boss, Chief Majemite after a working visit to see the state of the bridge.

He continued: “The visit was with the Special Adviser to Governor Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa on Local Government Affairs, Hon. Prince Panawei during his visit to Ethiope East LGA.”

The Erhanaka Kokori road also links to Ofuoma community where the Delta State College of Health Technology is situated.

Speaking further, he said: “During the process of the working visit to ascertain the condition of the bridge, some of the farmers who saw the former council chairman and the Special Adviser to Governor Okowa, doubted if they will really do something about the bridge that was disturbing them during rainy season.

“But to their suprise, events took a dramatic change where the bridge was eventually rehabilitated to cushion the effect of transportation by the farmers who normally plied the road to their various farms.”

On their parts, Mrs. Onome Umukoro and Madam Ese Unuerho who spoke to newsmen in thier different interviews, said going by the antecedents of Hon. Majemite for coming to their aid for rehabilitating the bridge, she is qualified to be the House of Assembly member to represent Ethiope East, come 2023.

They said Hon. Mrs. Majemite also graded some of the earth roads in Kokori community such as grading of Ekraka street, grading of Okuriblocku road, grading of Erhijeri primary school road that links to Erhanaka village and others.

Adding that the grading of the earth road in the community by Chief Mrs. Faith Majemite has gone a long way to prevent some of the areas in the community from flooding.

One of the residents, Mr. Sunday Akpotu who resides in Ekraka street commended Majemite for the grading of the street.

He said: “Last year, flood sacked me from my house in the street (Ekraka); even some of my properties were destroyed as a result of the flood. There was nobody to cry to. But if you look at it today, there is no flood on every part of the street, because of the grading of the street which chief Mrs.Faith Majemite has done.

Mr. Sunday Akpotu also hinted that in the area of education, Chief Majemite also contributed to the growth of education by establishing Ethiope East Nursary School in Kokori and other communities in the local government area.

Then, on Economic aspect, Mrs. Evumena Edore said, Hon. Majemite renovated and re-constructed Abraka market thereby making the market to look good and standard.

Madam Victoria, Miss. Maria Okoro, Mrs. Akpojitobor including other market women who spoke said, Hon. Mrs. Faith Majemite has done well to deserve the Ethiope East House of Assembly seat come 2023 over what she has done when she was chairman of the local government.

They however, called on others to continue to support her ambition for the seat of Ethiope East House of Assembly come 2023, saying that she will equally give the people of Ethiope East constituency a better representation if voted into power again.
