AFCON: Nigeria Beat Egypt to Top Group D
Super Eagles of Nigeria on Tuesday defeated the Pharoahs of Egypt at the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
A solitary goal from Leicester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho on the 30th minute saw the Super Eagles come out on top against the Egyptians.
The former Manchester City striker scored from an assist from Ranger’s Joe Aribo to give Nigeria the lead.

The win therefore sees Nigeria on top Group D, pending the outcome of the other game between Sudan and Guinea-Bissau later tonight.
With today’s victory, Nigeria broke Egypt’s unbeaten run record in their last 16 group matches at the Africa Cup of Nations.
