Okocha: Moses Simon’s Introduction Changed Nigeria v Guinea-Bissau Match

Austin Okocha has praised Moses Simon for his role in Nigeria’s 2-0 last Group D game win against Guinea-Bissau.
Nigeria were a goal up when Moses Simon was introduced in a clash that was balanced.
Bissau who needed a win were pushing for something and could have been rewarded in the first half, but Nigeria got the first goal through Umar Sadiq.
Sadiq tapped home from close range after an inside foot pass from Kelechi Iheanacho.

Guinea-Bissau could have gotten something from the game but coach Augustine Eguavoen destroyed any hopes of their fight back by introducing Simon Moses.
A decision that proved vital as he was involved in the second goal and was a constant threat down Nigeria’s left flank to continue his impressive run.
“Perfect record like you mentioned, professional job, did what was needed to win the game,” said Okocha
“Did what is necessary, I think the timing of Moses Simon introduction really helped.
“We took over the game after he was introduced.”
Simon Moses dribbled five Guinea-Bissau players and hit the woodwork for a tap in from Troost-Ekong for Nigeria’s second goal of the game.
