PDP MEGA RALLY: Mrakpor Supporters Storm Venue, Demand Governorship Ticket

Hundreds of refined and intelligent men, youths and women from across the the 25 local government area in the state on Saturday stormed the Asaba People’s Democratic Party mega rally at cenotaph to demand the actualization of Dr. Peter Adogbejire Mrakpor SAN, ACTI gubernatorial aspiration in 2023.

With an emphatic presence, the supporters’ coalition which included market women, farmers, traders, artisans and professionals chorused a demand for the most humble, respectful and well bred aspirant, Dr. Peter Adogbejire Mrakpor SAN, ACTI to become the Governorship Candidate hopeful, come 2023.

Leader of the Steering Committee of Women’s Coalition for Mrakpor, Lolly Derrick who addressed journalists at the venue emphasized that women’s assessment of the current line up of gubernatorial aspirants in the PDP political party indicates that Mrakpor is the best option for Delta people.

“We are rooting for Mrakpor, not because there are no other aspirants but because he is the most qualified and the one with the most easily predictable disposition towards development issues that are of utmost concern to us.

“Delta people trust Mrakpor more than any other gubernatorial aspirant and he already has an idea of what the specific challenges of governance in present times really mean.

“We believe that Mrakpor can consolidate upon whatever good foundation that Sen. Dr. Okowa has laid and Delta women are more optimistic about prospects for a better future under Mrakpor governorahip.

“We are urging all Delta women to actively mobilize support for Mrakpor in the interest of generations yet unborn because 2023 elections will leave very enduring impact on the fate of Delra,” she said.

Speaking in a same vein, Madam Onome Edem who led a group of some women to join the coalition for a peaceful rally at the PDP mega rally, stated that, those you saw here today came as a voluntary demonstration of support for Mrakpor..

“He is healthy, youth-friendly and women-friendly and he represents positive change.

“Besides, Mrakpor has demonstrated keen disposition towards seeing things from the perspective of the ordinary women and he can make things easy for us; indeed, we believe that he has great capacity to move Delta forward”, she said.

Also, Evangelist Macauley who is a member of the Christian faith group within the coalition expressed confidence in Mrakpor’s preparedness to justify the state’s collective hopes, adding that many people like him who cannot be swayed with money prefer to back Mrakpor in view of demonstrated capacity to serve with empathy.
