Re: Delta 2023: PDP Governorship Ticket Has Not Been Zoned To Any Senatorial District – DIGAG
This assumption by the Delta Ijaw 2023 Governoship Advocacy Group (DIGAG) is provocative, insensitive , self serving, rebellious, delusionary, misleading and highly divisive. It is capable of destroying the peace and unity that has kept us together over the years.
Based on this, I will respond to this assertion once and will hold my peace.
I do not know who the Delta Ijaw 2023 Governorship Advocacy Group (DIGAG) is speaking for, but I want to believe that they are not speaking on behalf of the good and reasonable people of Ijaw nation

It is a common knowledge that the issue of rotation is an unwritten but consensual arrangement among leaders of the three senatorial districts and those who feign ignorance of it are not only mischievous, they are either psychopaths or they are suffering from schizophrenia.
The above statement credited to the Delta Ijaw 2023 Governorship Advocacy Group is one of the most shameful, irresponsible and infantile statements I have heard in recent times.
The fact that they said there is no zoning in Delta state yet is also reflective of the group debilitating, deafening and mind blowing ignorance of the benefits of rotation and the political stability it has brought to the state vis a vis the mutual coexistence it has introduced among the various senatorial districts in Delta state.
That people from other senatorial districts have in time past contested the governoship seats did not at any time change the strict adherence to the rotation policy of the ruling PDP.
The zoning of the governorship ticket to Delta central is a done deal. Thankfully, the Delta State Chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Kingsley Esiso, has reiterated the sacrosanct nature of the zoning arrangement and further warned that those who want to go against it or fan the ember of disunity will be made to understand the true meaning of “party is supreme”.
For the past few weeks, we in Osu Governorship movement have been in the forefront of building bridges and understanding between the three senatorial districts in Delta state while emphasising on the need to respect and maintain the zoning system which has brought relative peace and mutual understanding among the political class.
That we from Delta central willingly relinquished power to Delta south when it was very convenient to retain it in 2007 only means we are decent, civilised, accommodative responsible and mature people who value peace, who seek to avoid conflict, who insist on ensuring that good sense prevails and who realise the fact that unity and love must be sacrosanct at all times .
I am sure no well meaning Ijaw man will support or share in this primitive and anti delluvian mindset propounded by this faceless group.
As a people, we will continue to use moral persuasion in our quest to produce the Governor, come 2023, but such disposition will not be at the expense of our rights, liberty, freedom and pride.
Like I said and will continue to say, the only people fighting against Delta central and the zoning arrangement in Delta State are the Ijaws and it might be counter productive for them when it finally comes to Delta south senatorial district, come 2031. A word is enough for the wise.
Let peace, love and unity be our guiding principles as we move towards 2023.
