Police Gun Down Suspected Armed Robbers In Warri

Two suspected armed robbers believed to be behind the several armed robbery incidents in the motor spare area of Lower Erejuwa Road, Warri have been shot dead by the Police.
An eye witness narrated that the armed gang of four with cut- to-size guns where in the process of carrying out their nefarious activities at the Old Welfare Junction when they were shot at by the crack plain clothed policemen, accompanied by members of a local vigilante group.
One of the suspects was said to have died on the spot while the other three fled the scene with bullet wounds.

It was gathered that one of the wounded suspects died the following day due to loss of blood.
Another source who pleaded anonymity in the nearby Warri Main Motor Park narrated that the suspects were seen inside the park shortly before they were encountered by the security operatives.
Those who spoke on the issue were full of praises for the Police.
Some of them appealed to the Police to sustain their raid on the Warri Garage and Lower Erejuwa Road areas in order to make the areas crime free.
When contacted for confirmation, the Police Public Relations Officer ( PPRO ), Delta State Police Command, DSP Bright Edafe confirmed that the leader of the notorious armed robbery gang was gun down while the rest of the gang escaped.
