Aniagwu Lauda NTA Mgt, Makes Case For Station’s Empowerment

The Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) Asaba has been commended by the Delta State Government for being a worthy partner in broadcasting government activities.

This commendation was given by the Commissioner for information, Mr Charles Aniagwu while playing host to the management staff of NTA Asaba in a courtesy visit to the ministry’s headquarters, Asaba.

Aniagwu stated that NTA Asaba, apart from the state-owned media outfits, had been very instrumental in publicising the projects and programs of the state government owing to their far-reaching network.

The commissioner speaking on the challenges the media house is facing advised the local management to relate with their national centres to see how a good percentage of funds generated by the various state via live coverage would be left for the maintenance of local stations.

While explaining the state had its own challenge meeting the needs of its owned media outfits, Aniagwu promised to continue to synergise with NTA Asaba and address some of her needs.

“The state government have their own challenges which is to bring up DBS to function, it is not easy to feed your children let alone another person’s child.

“So the central body has to have a rethink,” he stated.

On the issue of poor power supply, he promised to take the issue to the governor to see what can be done in that direction.

Earlier, the General Manger of NTA Asaba, Mr Innocent Maduka commeded the commissioner for his hardwork and intelligence initiative deplored in the weekly production of “Smart Delta” and his kindness and contribution to the growth of NTA Asaba.

Mr Maduka, who was posted to the state a few months ago, said that the purpose of his visit was to inform the commissioner of the change in leadership and called for support and collaboration of the NTA Asaba and them ministry.

the general manager listed a number of challenges faced by the station, which included lack of power supply, poor infrastructures and upgrade of equipment.
