DELSU DVC Speaks On Forthcoming Security And Road Safety Workshop

Prof. Rosemary Okoh, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Admin) and Chairman, Security and Road Safety Committee, has said that the maiden Awareness Workshop on Security and Safety to hold on Thursday, 31st March, 2022, was of utmost importance.
Speaking to.Oasis Magazine exclusively,, she said that the programne was put together because “DELSU management observed the high level of insecurity and road accidents in the environment around the university.”
In her words, “It is obvious that to effectively tackle the challenges, DELSU needs to interface with all the stakeholders. This workshop is an effort to bring “town” and “gown” to consider the challenges of insecurity and road safety, present our concerns and proffer solutions.”
She also hinted that there will be talks on security and safety issues in Abraka, adding that the Commissioner of Police will speak on crimes and cyber crimes with the implications for the community and the criminals.
Continuing, Prof. Okoh said talks will also be given on recreational drug use in relation to security and road safety, adding that tips on staying safe in the environment will also be dwelt on and many more.
Okoh said that there will also be drama, comedy and music presentations to spice up the event.
The event to be chaired by the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Andy Egwunyenga, will take place at the 750 A Auditorium, Site 3, DELSU, Abraka.
Time for the programme is 10.00am.
Dignitaries expected to grace the occasion include HRM Uku Odjevworo Akpomeyoma Majoroh, Ojeta II, Ovie of Oruarivie-Abraka Kingdom and HRM AVM Lucky Ochuko Ararile (Rtd), Avweake I, Ovie of Umiaghwa-Abraka Kingdom.
According to the organizers, a colourful walk show will hold on the 30th of March, adding that Professor Egwunyenga will deliver the Keynote Address at the occasion.
