Ika North East: Fejiro Oliver Writes Open Letter To Governor, As PDP Stops Elekewuru’s Third Term, Picks Okowa’s Daughter

Publisher, Secret Reporters, Fejiro Oliver, has expressed disappointment over the decision of the Peoples Democratic Party to replace the incumbent lawmaker representing Ika North East constituency in the Delta State House Assembly, Tony Elekewuru with the governor’s daughter, Marilyn Okowa, come 2023.

The fiery journalist who said he was heartbroken and in pains over the development, added that Ika North East has many QUALIFIED youths, that can occupy the office if there must be a replacement.

In his words: “Marilyn has enjoyed as SSA for over SIX years with yearly budget of almost a billion Naira, the only non commissioner with budgetary allocation that is NEVER accounted for” and should have been left out of the arrangement.

According to him, Okowa would have followed in the steps of former Governor James Ibori who allowed the daughter represent Ethiope West constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly only after he was out of government.

He added: “Ibori refused Erhitake access to government house when he was Governor. He even denied her money from state purse.

“It was Ovie Omo-Agege as EA, Commissioner and SSG that was solely in charge of taking care of Erhitake, giving her money without Ibori’s knowledge. Erhitake calls Agege “Uncle” till date. She even fell out with her father for denying Agege ticket that he had already won. She sent Ibori a message during the party election in Abuja that “God will judge you”. Amori is alive to confirm this. It’s a story for another time.”

He quizzed: “Why use the instrument of State to bulldoze her through and use her as a tool to checkmate a Governor you believe you will produce?”

Oliver opined that Okowa would have allowed the lawmaker go for a third term just like he did for Victor Nwokolo who is going back to the House of Reps.

This is NOT right

I write this with pains and heartbreak. I could have sent you a direct WhatsApp message but I chose to go public for posterity sake.

Ika North East have many QUALIFIED youths, male and female that can ably represent them in Delta State House of Assembly.

Why then in God’s name must it be your daughter, Marilyn, who has enjoyed as SSA for over SIX years with yearly budget of almost a billion Naira, the only non commissioner with budgetary allocation that is NEVER accounted for.

I love Marilyn like a sister and will always do. I have always seen you as a father and you have always listened to me even when I complain too much.

Yesterday, PDP stakeholders in your LGA gathered and reached a consensus that your daughter should represent them.

Sadly, the man who will be kicked out, Tony Elekewuru was at the meeting looking sad.

Dear Deltans, Tony is the one I have circled.

Let posterity judge us all right. Mr Governor, let history be your guide as you force your wealthy privileged daughter on your people.

She will win the election no doubt but will lose to history.

We can forgive Ibori as he was not in Government when his daughter became a lawmaker.

Can’t you wait after eight years before you make a daughter a lawmaker to test your relevance then? Why use the instrument of State to bulldoze her through and use her as a tool to checkmate a Governor you believe you will produce.

You are oppressing an innocent man. You have allowed Victor Nwokolo to go for a third term in the House of Reps, why not allow Tony go too for a third term unless he refuses.

This is heartbreaking.
