DELSU Set To Mark 30th Anniversary, Hold 14th Convocation Ceremony

All is now set to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, Delta State.
The much anticipated event will hold alongside the 14th convocation ceremony of the tertiary institution.
Announcing a line-up of activities for the two-in-one event, DELSU, in a press statement, said the celebration will commence on Friday, 22nd April, 2022, with a Jumat Service at the University Prayer ground by 12 noon, adding that on Sunday, 24th April, 2022, an Interdenominational Church Service will hold at St. Paul Catholic chapel, Site II, Abraka.
The following day, a World Press Conference by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Andy Ogochukwu Egwunyenga, will take place at the 750A lecture Hall, Site III. Time is 10a.m.
On Wednesday, April 27, 2022, the Convocation Lecture will be delivered by the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Professor Ibrahim Agboola Gambari, OFR. Venue is the 750 A lecture Hall, Site III and time is 10a.m. Thereafter, a Graduands’ Cocktail will hold at the VC’s Lodge.
Also, same day, a convocation drama will be presented by Theatre Arts Department at the Arts Theatre, Site III.
According to the statement, on Thursday, 28th April, 2022, the DELSU @ 30 Commemoration Lecture will be delivered by Prof. Patrick Loch Lumumba.

An Alumni Novelty Football Match by 9.00am, carnival beginning at Site II to Site III Convocation Arena, Alumni Engagement (4.00pm to 6.00pm) and VC’s Award and Commendation Day (4.00pm to 6.00pm) are among the programme of activities for Friday, 29th April, 2022, the statement added.
On Saturday, 30th April, 2022, there will be commissioning of projects, award of First Degrees on graduating students in different faculties and award of Higher Degrees, Postgraduate Diplomas and presentation of prizes. There will also be an investiture of Professor Emeritus on Prof. E.A Arubayi & Prof Sam Ukala (of blessed memory) and conferment of Honorary Degrees on HRM Hon. F.F Tabai and Chief J.J Ovia, MFR, CON.
A Vice Chancellor’s Luncheon will mark the end of activities for the celebration.
