Anambra Lawmaker Representing Soludo’s Constituency Abducted Days Ago Has Been Beheaded
A member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Dr. Okechukwu Okoye, who was kidnapped on Sunday, 15 May, has reportedly been killed and beheaded by his abductors.
According to reports, the lawmaker was abducted in his Lexus Jeep vehicle within his constituency.
It was gathered that his head was mounted at the Chisco park in Amichi community, in Anambra State.
Okoye was representing the Aguata North constituency, the same community as the governor of the state, Professor Charles Soludo.
This development is coming a few days after Soludo confirmed his kidnap, stating that efforts were being made to rescue the lawmaker.
“I regret, however, that one of you, the member representing the good people of Aguata II Constituency in the House of Assembly, my own representative, Hon. Okechukwu Okoye is still in the custody of the kidnappers,” the governor had said.

“The security agencies are working very hard and around the clock to secure his freedom. God is on the throne and Anambra will win. Let me leave it at that.”
There has been a spate of violence in the state, including attacks on security agencies and government facilities.
