BREAKING: Akpowowo Wins Ethiope East House Of Assembly PDP Primaries

Immediate past Commissioner for Urban Renewal in Delta State, Olorogun (Barr.) Arthur Akpowowo, has emerged the Delta State House of Assembly candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ethiope East.

According to results announced on Sunday by the Chairman of the three-man panel at the council secretariat, venue for the primaries, Commissioner for Economic Planning, Delta State, Hon. Barry Gbe, Akpowowo garnered a total of 15 of the 34 votes cast by delegates for the 7 aspirants.

Immediate past Executive Chairman of the area, Chief Faith Majemite came 2nd with 10 votes, while Hon. Augustine Ogedegbe came 3rd with 9 votes.

Declaring the result, Gbe noted that the votes were shared by only 3 candidates, saying that by the outcome of the election, Akpowowo will fly the ticket of the PDP.

His words: “PDP is one family. This is a family affair. I expect to see embrace and messages of congratulations. He is going to represent everyone of us as he faces the opposition.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the party in the council area, Hon. Felix Erhiemedafe, has said that “this is the very first time in Ethiope East that there was a very free and fair, credible and acceptable primaries.

“Yes in the general elections and future elections, the party will work together as one and deliver the candidate of the party.”

To the aspirants, he said: “They should work together with the candidate and the candidate as well should go and extend his hand of fellowship to them so that we win the general elections.”
