Egwunyenga: My Vision Is To Lead, Inspire And Advance The Repositioning Of DELSU To Emerge Best State University In Nigeria

“When I joined the race for the Vice Chancellorship of our university, I framed a sublime vision and a noble mission enabled by the grand and ennobling idea of the university. As I submitted to the Selection Committee and as I have reiterated at different fora since mounting the saddle: “my vision is to lead, inspire and advance the repositioning of the Delta State University, Abraka, to emerge as the best state university in Nigeria.”
Vice-Chancellor, Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, Professor Andy Egwunyenga, said this recently while delivering his maiden convocation address as the 7th substantive VC of the learning institution.

According to him, to achieve the lofty vision, he set up three pivotal committees namely: Advisory Committee, Strategic Plan Committee and Environment Committee, to chart a new direction and destiny for the university.”
Furthermore, he said that he also intends to build an effective and motivated work force, pursue innovation with ICT, strengthen units, departments and facilities, improve on students’ services, enhance the University’s revenue base and adopt best global practice in university administration and governance.
