BREAKING: Court Denies Nnamdi Kanu Bail

Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has again denied the bail application of the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that ruling on the bail application, Justice Nyako said for four years, nothing was filed in her court explaining why Kanu left Nigeria.
However, she said she is open to considering a new application for bail and she granted a stay of the criminal proceedings.

Continuing, Justice Nyako advised Kanu’s legal team to approach the Court of Appeal on the issue of bail.
Last month, the judge also denied Kanu’s bail application. She said at the time that the issue of Kanu’s absence in the past, since 2017, should be determined, before his bail application, will be entertained. She added that Kanu breached his former bail conditions, and until that is heard, his present bail application is immature.
Since he was rearrested in Kenya in June 2021, the 54-year-old separatist leader has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja.
