Late Michael West’s Family Confirms Death

Family members of Late Michael Olusesan Awe have confirmed the death of the popular columnist.

This was contained in a statement signed by Israel Ayo Awe for the family.

The statement read: “It is with great sadness but total submission to the will of God that the entire AWE Family of Akure, Akure South Local Government Area, Ondo State announces the passing away of our son, brother, and father, Michael Olusesan Awe (a k a Michael West).

“He was born on the 10th September, 1963 in Akure, Ondo state and died on Saturday, June 11, 2022.

“Mike, as he was fondly called by friends and admirers, was involved in a ghastly motor accident along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

“He breathed his last at the Ogun State Teaching Hospital, Sagamu.”

Mike is survived by an aged mother, children and siblings.

According to the statememt, “burial arrangements will be announced later.”
