Senator Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared winner of the Osun State Governorship Election after winning 17 of the 30 Local Government Areas in the state.
Adeleke came tops after defeating his closest rival, the incumbent governor, Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Adeleke polled a total of 403,333 votes while Governor Oyetola secured 375,027 votes in the election.
Any moment from now, the Vice Chancellor, University of Lagos, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, who is the Returning Officer for the election will officially announce the winner of the election.
But from the declared results, the PDP has secured highest number of votes, and may be returned winner of the election.
