How well is a law for exclusive federal government’s control of the waterways/creeks, predominantly in Southern Nigeria, going to improve governance that President Mohammadu is desperate to represent a bill already rejected by the National Assembly to that effect?

Must they take everything that belongs to the South-South people of the Niger Delta? The oil, condensate and gas of the South-South have become the property of every Nigerian and are exclusively controlled by the Federal government.

Now the people’s natural waterways and creeks are about to be taken over too by a desperate Federal Government under Buhari whereas Zamfara State Government is claiming ownership of their natural resources.

Must they forcefully take our natural riversides/creeks from the South-South people? If the oil, condensate and gas in these areas belong to the Hausa/Fulani would they allow the minority tribes of the South-South to have a hand in it and share in the stakes?

Buhari should concentrate on good governance and end the insecurity in the country. He should be concerned about how to restore strength to Nigeria’s weak naira that has become worthless before other currencies of the world.

Buhari should concentrate on how to reduce the prices of commodities under biting inflation, especially on food items that are not affordable to the majority of the poor in the country.

Buhari is heating up the polity with his already rejected malicious water resources bill, proposing to take over the entire environment of the people of the South-South and the South West.
