Ezewu Commends Nigerian Breweries For investment In Education, Congratulates Maltina Teacher Of The Year

Delta State Commissioner for Secondary Education, Mrs. Rose Ezewu has commended the Nigerian Breweries PLC for investing in the education system and for encouraging the spirit of hardwork among teachers through rewards.

Mrs. Ezewu made the commendation in her office in Asaba when the Corporate Affairs Manager of the Eastern Region of the company visited her to present the 2021 Maltina Teacher of the year, Mr. Taye Abanika to her.

She congratulated the 2021 Maltina Teacher of the year winner for achieving such feat.

The commissioner, who said that the gesture to organise such a competition and endured that the winners were rewarded, stated that the initiative was worthy of emulation.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Augustine Oghoro lauded the Nigerian Breweries for promoting effectiveness in the education sector.

He called on other Non- Governmental Organisations to emulate the gesture of Nigerian Breweries, PLC just as he advised teachers to believe in themselves that they have the capacity to excel at all times.

Earlier, the Corporate Affairs Manager of the Eastern Region of Nigerian Breweries PLC, Mrs. Joy Egolum informed the commissioner that they were in her office to present the 2021 Maltina Teacher of the year winner to her and appealed to the commissioner to facilitate a courtesy visit to Delta State Governor so as to present the winner to him.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen, the 2021 Maltina Teacher of the year, Mr. Taye Abanika, who teaches Basic Technology and Technical Drawing in James Hope College, Agbor expressed gratitude to the company, stressing that the award would encourage him to be more committed to discharge his duties effectively.

He enjoined teachers to maximise the benefits of the competition to better their lots.
