Speaking during the auspicious occasion, HRM Ararile, said the new commissioner is a very promising son of the kingdom, adding that he has brought a lot of development to the area.

While praying for him, he recalled how he personally carefully picked the title to confirm on Onoriode, saying that so far he has lived up to the chieftaincy title of ‘Ejorhofo.’

Earlier, while delivering a welcome address, Chairman, Planning Committee, Sir Festus Oghenekevwe Eghwrudje, said the occasion was put together to celebrate Chief Onoriode who has been sworn in as Commissioner for Primary Education.

He added: “Firstly, we thank the Almighty God, who made our rejoicing possible today. Secondly, we thank the Executive Governor of Delta State for finding our very own Hon. Chief Sunday Onoriode worthy of such an honour as a Commissioner in his cabinet.”

He also thanked Alhaji Atiku Abubakar for nominating Governor Okowa as the Vice Presidential Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, just as he appealed to Okowa to remember Chief Onoriode, Umiaghwa-Abraka Kingdom and Delta at large when he is elected next year.

Furthermore, Eghwrudje noted that since the installation of HRM Ochuko Ararile as Ovie, good things have been coming into Umiaghwa-Abraka Kingdom.

Speaking further, he assured the new commissioner of a very strong home base support, saying “so, we expect you to continue to give our Governor all the support he may need from time to time.”

“Let the entire Delta State feel your positive impact as usual, but please, remember your home front as we will be watching and praying for you,” he said.

Responding to the gesture of his people, Chief Onoriode thanked the monarch and the community for continually standing by jim.

According to him, the chieftaincy title of role model given to him by the kingdom has worked for him.

Adding: “We thank God that I have been able to live with that name and sustain the name instead of falling short of a role model to the kingdom.”

He continued: “Not too long ago, His Royal Majesty Ogurimerime the 1st confirmed me with another title; a very symbolic and I thank God that I have also been able to live up to that name.

“Today, I tell everyone that works under me that there is no secret to success; its only hardwork because I am a living testimony of a very local boy because I was given birth to here, attended my primary, secondary and university education here in this community. Although I finished my secondary school in Udu, I came back here for my university education and now I am here again. I stand everyday as a role model to people that I am older than because I am a good example of a domesticated child and I thank God that I have been able to live a good life.

“I am a politician and as a politician, the only instrument you need is support. Just like a cutlass is a necessary tool for a farmer to farm, support is necessary to a politician. I thank God that anywhere i go to I can beat my chest with my hand that I have the support of my people.

“Today, our royal Majesty has brought so must light to the kingdom because of his leadership style; a leadership style that is very strange to this environment.”

Meanwhile, the traditional ruler of Agbon Kingdom has promised to also host the new commissioner on a date of his choice.

The monarch who said this during his brief at the programme, said Chief Onoriode is a noble Urhobo son and should be deserves to be celebrated.
