Maku Promises Innovative Programs For Sapele Athletic Club As President

Affable member of Sapele Athletic Club, SAC, Chief Francis Maku has promised to render innovative services and improved corporate image of the ancient club if elected the President at the next election, at the end of the incumbent president Professor Nyerhovwo Tonukarin.

Chief Maku, who was accompanied by a retinue of prominent club members and the political class, made the promise while on a visit to Chief Felix Anirah at his home to declare interest in the forthcoming election of the club new executive.

The former Warri North Council Chairman declared that he is capable of addressing myriad of teething problems besetting the club, as a result of a wider knowledge and experience he acquired in tackling major socio-political and community issues, as Chairman of the Itsekiri and Ijaw dominated local government area.

The traditional chief of Warri Kingdom, described as a pragmatic personage on affairs of Sapele, stated among other plans in his kitty, to ameliorate the huge cost of diesel consumption by introducing solar energy to power major electrical gadgets, as he explained, “I am going to reduce energy cost by cutting down on power consumption with Solar energy within the short period of my tenure.

He also promised to generate fund by selling the corporate image of SAC to the political class and improve on every aspect of the club’s departments,for the overall benefit of everyone that patronise the club.

He said: “I intend engaging in fund drives to members across the country and in diaspora, the immediate communities, the state government, prominent individuals and reputable clubs across the county and abroad.”

Responding, Chief Anirah, disclosed knowing his junior council chairman for over three decades, stressing that Maku is a sellable candidate for the number position of the club’s next election,

According to the member, representing Sapele Constituency and 2time Sapele Council Chairman, Chief Maku’s credibility as well his pedigree are of good report to members of Sapele Athletic Club for endorsement to administer the club on their behalf for a period of time.

He assured to support him through lobbying based on members collective decision of desiring the best for the club.
He however cautioned against any hidden agenda, that is counter productive with the interest of the club membership, disclosing a clandestine move in the past by some self seeking executive of a plan to sell the club. a discovery I fought against and vehemently opposed for the prevailing peace the club enjoys today.

The Okpe Kingdom High chief cautioned Maku,saying “all eyes are beaming on you and your performance, when you assume the tasking position for an overall assessment by the people and their report card at the end of your tenure, praying for Maku’s success on his aspiration.
