Auchi Polytechnic Expels 40 Students

The Management of the Federal Polytechnic, Auchi has expelled 40 students of the institution for falsification of results and discrepancies at the point of entry into some programmes at the institution.

This was disclosed in a news bulletin made available to newsmen by the Information and Public Relations Unit of the institution and signed by Mrs Adebola Ogun boyowa.

She explained that some students were expelled following the outcome of the regular verification exercise for 2020/2021 academic session.

According to Ogunboyowa, the affected students were involved in forgery and falsification of results to gain admission into the National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programme.

Ogunboyowa said that the expelled students cut across different departments in the Polytechnic.

She also added that the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr Salisu Umar has also proposed 12 new programmes to commence in 2022/2023 acedemic session.

She listed the programmes as follows: Printing Technology, Welding and Fabrication Technology, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Library and Information Science, Taxation, Leisure, Tourism Management Technology and Social Development.

Others are Microfinance Enterprise Development, Computer Engineering Technology, Economics and Development Studies, Agriculture Extension and Management and Crop Production Technology.

She noted that the idea is the Rector’s commitment to reposition the Polytechnic and make it enviable in the nation and beyond.
