Adesina, Bogoro, Others To Speak At DELSU’s 1st International Agric. Conference Tuesday

The 1st International Agricultural Conference of the Delta State University, DELSU, Abraka, Nigeria, tagged: ‘DELSU Agric 2023’ is set to commence on Tuesday, 31st January and end on Thursday, 2nd February, 2023.
The event organized by the Faculty of Agriculture with theme: ‘Agriculture For The Time: Solving Food Insecurity in a Fragile Economy’ will hold at the institution’s 750 Capacity Hall, Site III.

A statement signed by the Convener and Dean of the faculty, Prof. (Mrs.) Dicta Ogisi; Chairman, Organizing Committee, Prof. J. O. Akpodiete; Alternate Chairman, Organizing Committee, Prof. L. Bratte and Secretary, Organizing Committee, Dr. S. Enimu, said there will be an opening ceremony on Tuesday.
According to the statement, Keynote Speakers at the event are the President, African Development Bank, AfDB, Abidjan, Ivory-Coast, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina and former Executive Secretary, TETFUND, Nigeria, Prof. Suleiman Bogoro, adding that Lead Speakers at the conference are the Executive Director, Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), USA, Dr. Yemi Akinbamijo and Prof. M. S. Igben (KSC) of the Rivers State University, Port Harcourt.
Dignitaries to grace the programme include Governor of Delta State, Sen. Dr. Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa (Special Guest of Honour), Commissioner for Higher Education, Dr. Kingsley Ashibogwu, Member, Federal House of Representatives, Isoko North/South Constituency, Rt. Hon. Leo Ogor, Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Godfrey Enita, MD/CEO, Obakpor Engineering Nigeria, Ltd, Warri, Olorogun J. U. Oguma, Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Patrick Ukah, MD/CEO, FENOG Nig. Ltd., Engr. Austin E. Oghenejabo and Hon. Paul Okpue.
Chief Host and DELSU VC, Prof. Andy Egwunvenga and Principal Officers of the tertiary institution will also be in attendance.
