Former House Leader, Governor’s Aide Describes Okowa’s Government As Worst In Delta’s History

The crisis that has hit Delta State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has refused to go away as today, former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Olise Imegwu dumped the party for the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Making the announcement at a special meeting with top party leaders of the APC in Aboh, Rt. Hon. Olise Imegwu said he was leaving PDP to seek a better platform to develop Ndokwa Nation, something he said has been lacking under the current Okowa government.

“Today, I’m joining APC to synergize with other leaders of the party to bring development to Ndokwa East and Ndokwa Nation in general.

“Leaving the PDP was very easy for me because besides the party only having leaders whose desire is to conspire to seize power, the APC presented candidates that have proven track records especially their joint gubernatorial ticket of Agege and Osanebi.

“The PDP under Okowa ridiculed Ndokwa Nation. We were told paucity of funds is what led to Okowa stopping work at the already approved Aboh Polytechnic, yet he was able to create three new Universities in other areas.

“To make matters worse, nine Technical Colleges were established and none of them was sited in Ndokwa East. As it stands today the PDP under Okowa has no flagship project anywhere in Ndokwa East.

“I resigned my appointment under Okowa because I see the progressive party as a better alternative. I’m not joining APC with my teeming supporters and coordinators of Delta Unity Group in Ndokwa East to make up numbers, we are here to work hard to win elections, to enable us have a better platform to bring development to Ndokwa Nation”, Imegwu said.

At the same venue, former House Leader of Ndokwa East and Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Larry Eduzuka, announced he was dumping the PDP, just as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor, Chris Oputa while announcing his defection described Okowa’s government as the worst in Delta’s history.

According to Oputa, Osanebi’s track record since he joined politics in 2011, remains unrivaled anywhere in Ndokwa Nation.

Taking his turn to address the mammoth crowd that gathered to witness the epic defections, Deputy Governorship Candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi started by reiterating that he won’t disappoint Deltans when elected alongside his principal Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege.

According to Osanebi, the calibre of people resigning their appointment from Okowa’s government to join the progressive party, is a testament that they believe the APC is best positioned to attract the kind of development Ndokwa people are craving for.

While urging party members and supporters of the party to vote all candidates of the APC, Osanebi said he is elated to see the likes of the very experienced Rt. Hon. Olise Imegwu join the APC, declaring the party is wide enough to accommodate everyone who wishes to join the party.

Highlight of the day was the issuing of party cards by the LGA Chairman of the party, Barr. Augustine Ogbolu to Rt. Hon. Olise Imegwu, Chief Chris Oputa, Hon. Larry Eduzuka and the Ndokwa East ward coordinators of Delta Unity Group.

Hon. Tony Ndanenu, APC candidate for Ndokwa East state constituency, Chief Chris Ogwu, Chief Tony Uti, Chief Alex Anichie, Chief John-Mark Nwawolor, Chief Sunday Obi, Easy Ann, amongst others were part of leaders present at the event which later metamorphosed into a carnival.
