LASU VC Hosts ECOWAS Youth Ambassador, Emmanuel Agida

…Says Her Administration Ready To Invest In Next Generation Of Leaders
The Vice Chancellor, Lagos State University, LASU, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji – Bello, mni, on Friday, 20th January 2023, received in audience the ECOWAS Youth Ambassador, Emmanuel Agida, at her office on the 6th floor of Babatunde Raji Fashola Senate Building, Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.
The 19-year-old youth leadership advocate and campaigner who was appointed Ambassador by the ECOWAS Youth Council in April 2022, visited the Vice Chancellor to seek support for the EYC’s initiative to train One Thousand students of the University in leadership Development Programme. The programme, he said, is part of his effort to train interested young people in the act of quality leadership and in the process, mould them into leaders capable to bring about the needed change in the nation. The programme, he said, would culminate in a National Youth Conference where participants would be given certificates of training.

The Vice Chancellor led other members of Management and Directors at the meeting to commend Agida, for the solid presentation, and promised him that the University would give maximum support to the initiative.
She said, “I thank you for choosing to organise the leadership development programme in LASU. We have over 35 Thousand students who are leaders in their right. We will support you on this project; we are investing in the new generation of leaders and this is a platform to do so.”
Ambassador Agida, who met the Vice Chancellor in company of the President, Junior Chamber International Nigeria (JCIN) Lagos State University Chapter, Dohou Success presented an Award of Excellence to the VC and a compendium of his activities.
The Leadership Development Programme is expected to hold sometime in May 2023.
