Hope Uzodinma went on to state that Ikenga Ugochinyere held series of meetings with people who do not want elections to hold in the South-East and they all agreed to ensure that no election is conducted in the South-East in 2023.
However, Hope Uzodinma went on to say that Ikenga Ugochinyere defaulted in the agreement he had with those persons by deciding to become a candidate in the forthcoming election and as such, the gunmen decided to attack him for defaulting.
Hope Uzodinma went on to say that the relevant security agencies have evidence of the agreement Ikenga Ugochinyere had with the gunmen regarding ensuring that no election will take place in the South-East in the year 2023.
Remember that unknown gunmen reportedly attacked Ugochinyere and succeeded in killing his uncle during the attack.
According to Ugochinyere in a seemingly distressed tweet on Twitter Saturday afternoon, the unknown persons also set a house ablaze, suspected to be his residence.
Hope Uzodinma said that he has no hand in the attack on Ikenga Ugochinyere because he is not contesting for the position of the House of Representatives like Ikenga Ugochinyere is contesting.
Uzodinma also said that on Monday, the state government will discuss all that has happened in a security meeting.
