Anger As Wike Denies Peter Obi Visit To Rivers

Nigerians from various backgrounds have expressed serious outrage as Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State denied the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Gregory Obi, a visit to the state on Thursday.

News Band gathered that Peter, who later managed a landing just in Port Harcourt, the State capital, had his security clearance revoked when he wanted to fly to Ogoni which was his primary destination.

He was later seen on television granting interviews in Port Harcourt.

An insider, however, explained that the interview was a last resort since he was not given clearance to move freely in the state as they did not allow him to visit where he wanted in Rivers State

He was supposed to visit Bori to meet a section of Ogoni People. It never happened. He only gor to Port Harcourt and turned back.

The trouble escalated when one Kweku The Hustler took to his Twitter handle, @urchilla01, to raise the alarm.

According to Kweku, Peter Obi was scheduled to visit 8 communities in Rivers State today. Nigerians could not understand why he did not visit those communities and why did his journey ended in Port Harcourt?

He tweeted:

“So Peter Obi was scheduled to be in Rivers state today. Governor Nyesom Wike called him to inform him that he couldn’t guarantee his safety.

“Peter Obi insisted & said it doesn’t matter, that there isn’t security anywhere in Nigeria.

“His helicopter had already taken off and was en route when he was called again & informed that his security clearance had been withdrawn by Governor Nyesom Wike, the baby tyrant.

“This is the reason Peter Obi couldn’t be in Rivers State today.

“It has now become glaringly obvious that Nyesom Wike has declared an all-out war on Peter Obi in his bid to deny the people of Rivers state access to good governance.”
