Apart of the effort to raise morally responsible youths in recent times and be good ambassadors of themselves and the society, residents, leaders and well-meaning Deltans have decried the rate of same sex activities in some parts of the State, describing such as evil, preposterous , demonic and an act capable of destroying the future of the youths who are leaders of tomorrow.

This ugly development, our correspondent gathered, has done more harm than good in some communities in Delta State and beyond where some male and female genders practice such an evil act which is against God and humanity.

However, in a Town Hall meeting held recently in Okuekovo with various security agencies, community leaders and stakeholders from various communities such as Ughelli, Udu, Sapele, Warri, Agbarho, Isoko, all in Delta State were in attendance to further discuss the way out of this sacrilegious quagmire. It was gathered that one Mr. Jacob Onokurefe Stanley and over seven others of his male friends who are currently on the run, were involved in this evil practice around the Ughelli, Warri, Sapele, Isoko, Udu axis of Delta State about eight weeks ago and a follow up investigation by various security agencies and community leaders have been ongoing.Going memory lane, the 42-year-old Jacob Onokurefe Stanley alongside Japheth Onome, John Chijoke, Wilfred G. Akpan, Godspower Theophilus, Mr. Famous Sakpoba and one Master Israel Obukowho who is 18 years old were said to have indulged in the act and were caught by some community indigenes in various places mentioned above.Mr. Jacob Onokurefe Stanley is currently on the run because during the Town Hall meeting, it was agreed by the security agencies present and community leaders that the culprits be brought to book and urged that the affected towns and communities to constantly preach morals, good discipline among the youths. However, while deliberations were still ongoing about Jacob Onokurefe Stanley’s issue, a motion was raised during the Town Hall meeting by one of the community leaders, Chief Kefe Richmond, who cited an instance of what this same Famous Sakpoba who resides at 10 Creek View Road, New World City Ugbuwague, Warri, Delta State did about five, six to seven months ago on the same sacrilegious act.

He added that during that period, some persons that were involved on this same act were arrested while others including Mr. Famous Sakpoba absconded and are being looked for by the appropriate authorities.Speaking at the meeting, SP Joseph W. Obiavroku and other community leaders in the area expressed total dissatisfaction at what Jacob Onokurefe Stanley, Famous Sakpoba and his evil friends did and called for their sanction in order to turn a new leaf.SP. Joseph W. Obiavroku while appealing to the communities to produce the above listed persons who are indulging in the practice of homosexual in these areas, noted that they must face the laws of the community and the land and to do the needful.Similarly, investigation has revealed that one Gift Odubo who was handed over to police by youths in the Udu community has escaped from the Police Station in the area. She had been detained while the authorities were still in search of her partner, one Oyibo Judith who has been in hiding. Gift and her partner Judith were said to have been caught in the act of lesbianism in the latter’s fiancé’s apartment on 14th of February 2022.Responding, some community leaders from Sapele, Ughelli, Warri , Isoko, Udu and its environs, among whom were Chief Otiguru James,Chief kefe Richmond, Okakuro Ebio Peters and others, promised to produce the culprits for disciplinary actions. They however lamented that Jacob Onokurefe Stanley who lives at 34 New Ogorode Road by Otite Junction Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State, has taken to his heels from the community but promised to produce him whenever they see him.In order to serve as deterrent to others, the culprits some of whom are being prosecuted by the authorities will be jailed and those that have absconded, our correspondent gathered, may also face jail terms even if it takes two, three or five years because it should be noted that homosexual is a punishable offense under Nigerian law and all hands are on deck and both community leaders and security agencies are at alert in this regards because it is important to raise morally responsible youths with the fear of God, humanity and to obey constituted authorities.
