Urges Delta Youths To Massively Mobilise To Collation Centers

The Delta Political Vanguard (DPV) led by Hon. Evang Michael Diden Ejele has put on notice the United Nations, the African Union, the European Union, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the International and Domestic Election Observers, the United States Government and other foreign commissions in Nigeria, the Global Civil Society Community, the National Human Rights Commission amongst others of impending citizens disobedience and resistance if the Governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Delta State Obaisi Senator Ovie Omo Agege continues to engage in activities capable of undermining the credibility of the Delta State Governorship and State House of Assembly elections.

Speaking to the press on Sunday, Activist Rex Emojite Anighoro, Spokesman to the Delta Political Vanguard (DPV) stated that Senator Ovie Omo Agege has resorted to militarizing the elections, using armed thugs to perpetuate violence in the hope of upturning the outcomes of the elections.

He stated that attempts to use frivolous accusations to arrest leaders of the People Democratic Party (PDP) and its members have been ongoing and now energized, noting that just a week ago the Gubernatorial Candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori escaped assassination attempts.

Activist Rex Anighoro who is also a front line Civil Society leader, stated that violations on the human rights of many People Democratic Party (PDP) stalwarts have been ongoing, including intimidation, attacks and attempted arson on the houses of the PDP members.

He stated that several attempts to hijack election materials have been recorded and attempts to upturn results at collation centers are already been perpetuated.

The Delta Political Vanguard spokesman further asserted that results from the various units across the State already show that the People Democratic Party (PDP) is winning the elections by a landslide and therefore called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to tamper with the free will of Delta citizens given at the polls as anything short of free, fair and credible elections will be invitation to civil disobedience and resistance.

He called on Delta youths to be on red alert and start mobilizing massively to collation centers across the State to ensure that the victory of the electorate is not subverted.
