By Lucky Uto
Contrary to different stories of the fire inferno that gutted the partners hall of the Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministries Effurun, Uvwie local government area of Delta State, on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, the founder of the ministry, Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin has said, the fire inferno was caused by his disobedience to God’s instructions.
Though, stories went round that the entire Church was engulfed by the inferno, while some alleged it was a bomb ;last, but contrary to all these, the revered and popular Warri Prophet and Founder of the ministry, Fufeyin, on Sunday, March 27, while addressing his Church congregation and partners during church service, said; “Nobody set the partners hall ablaze but, God himself did as He came to take His properties due to his (Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin) stubbornness and disobedience to the instructions of God.

The man of God who took time to explain what happened on the faithful day, noted that God has been instructing him to build Him a house of worship, but out of disobedience and stubbornness, he neglected all his directives and instructions.
“God told me, don’t build your personal house, but build my house first, but I wanted to dodge God which no man can”.
Prophet Fufeyin who was in sober moment, disclosed that, sometime ago, he had planned to build his own house, but after the foundation laying, God came to him to warn him to go and build his house first.
“Actually, I had wanted to build a befitting house of worship for God. I even spent 10 million naira to draw the building plan in 2020, but as I was about to begin, Corona Virus crept in and my attention was again diverted.”
Going further the renowned Prophet of God, jokingly said; ‘I even tried to play God when my wife was complaining and asking me why I am still a tenant. So, I told her I was going to build her a house, but not my house. Truly I fulfilled my promise to her, but as she was about moving in, God came this time and told me, I am coming for my properties.”
He said; then he knew God was really coming for him, and at that point he knew God will not only come for material properties, but for himself as he is the real property of God. He said he prayed and went on his kneels to beg for mercies, and the result is what has happened.
He revealed that of the truth, the Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry has no Church building but only a partnership hall. And it was that hall that an inferno which never lasted for 20 minutes, gutted all equipments, chairs and electrical appliances worth billions of naira, but miraculously, none of the offices where God’s properties are kept was touched by the fire.
He attributed the ordeal to his disobedience and stubbornness, but said; through this, he has entered into a covenant with God that he is ready and will build the house of worship between June and December 2023.
While appreciating different religious leaders that have called to sympathize with the Mercy Land, he disclosed that the ministry has spent over 250 million naira to procure temporary instruments and repairs until the House of God is properly built.
Reflecting on a sermon he titled; ‘Trials of God’, maintained that, a mans trials come in different ways and thereafter promote you to the next level, if only you can persevere.
He admonished his congregation to understand that whatever situation they found themselves is a process of God, as he recounted the ordeal of Jonah in the scriptures and how Jonah out of his disobedience was about to cause a major disaster and havoc to innocent people.
He called on all to listen to God and obey his instructions and commandments, adding that it was this same act of disobedience that has made him to keep procrastinating in building a befiting edifice for God.
He however prayed for forgiveness from God and solicited understanding of his members as his stubbornness has caused them relocating to the other part where the service is being held.
