Meet The 29-Year-Old Who Contested In Anambra House Of Assembly Election To Stop The Speaker’s 3rd Term Bid

Joelmary Chukwuma Okafor, a 29-year-old man who recently contested in the Anambra State House of Assembly Election and came third on the list, has congratulated Bernard Abuchi Udemezue, the 30-year-old who emerged victorious in the election, describing it as a win-win situation.

In the election, the Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly of APGA, Hon. Uchenna Okafor, failed to secure a win, despite belonging to the ruling party. Joelmary Chukwuma Okafor, popularly known as Ebubenna, contested on the platform of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) but was also unsuccessful in his bid to secure a seat in the Assembly.

However, despite losing the election, Joelmary Chukwuma Okafor has accepted his defeat graciously. In a Facebook post, he stated that the election was a battle between the youths whose future had been messed up and the representative who failed to consider any other person. He described the election as a battle between the people who had been alienated by their own brother and the select few who had kept them in a pitiable state out of greediness and selfishness.

Joelmary Chukwuma Okafor encouraged his supporters not to be discouraged and informed them that he came third out of the eleven contestants, indicating that there was still hope in the next election. He stated that he was already preparing for the next election.

In his post, Joelmary Chukwuma Okafor congratulated Bernard Abuchi Udemezue, describing him as his dear Honourable and fellow combatant in the battle. He expressed his happiness for Udemezue’s victory and stated that a new Ayamelum was here.
