Igbenije Hails Okowa For Transformational Stides

Governor of Delta State, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has been hailed for the transformational strides recorded by his administration in the last eight years.

The commendation was given by a prominent People’s Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain in Ika South local government area, Hon. Cosmas Igbenije.

Hon. Igbenije, who is also a Senior Special Assistant on Youth Mobilisation to the governor noted that the impacts made by the governor will remain indelible in the annals of Delta State.

He described the last eight years as the best in terms of development since the creation of the state 31 years ago, adding that Governor Okowa has transformed every sector of the state socio economic live.

According to the youth mobiliser, “Deltans will remain grateful to Governor Okowa for his immense contribution to the development of the state.

“The numerous roads and bridges constructed across the state, which resulted in his being nicknamed, ‘Road Master’ is a glowing testament to the achievement recorded in the area of infrastructure provision by the governor.”

Hon. Igbenije noted that the education sector witnessed tremendous improvement under Governor Okowa, with the revitalization of technical education, through the building and equipping of technical colleges across the state, which was moribund in 2015 when the governor came on board. “There is also the establishment of three universities,” he added.

“There is no doubt that the governor’s midas touch was felt in all areas including youths and women empowerment, through YAGEP, STEP, RYSA, Widows Alert, and other life changing programmes initiated and pursued by the administration.

“There is no gain saying that thousands of Delta youths were empowered in the last eight years through the empowerment initiatives of our dear governor, which had made them not only gainfully employed, but have themselves become employers of labour,” he stated.

He described the governor as a consumate politician and astute administrator, who will continue to create pathway of success and progress for the younger generation.

He opined that the numerous achievements recorded by Governor Okowa got him numbers of awards including the prestigious award of Commander of the Niger, CON by President Muhammadu Buhari.

He described the governor as, “my hero and role model who has inspired me in several ways,” and therefore, prayed that God will continue to keep and uplift him.
