Desperate passengers were compelled to trek a short distance to either sides to board waiting commercial tricycles ( keke ) to their destinations.
However this was not the case of commercial ( kpelegbe ) bus drivers that navigated through the axial routes of Robert, Swamp Mission and GRA roads.
Those who spoke to our correspondent, commended the Delta State Government for the drainage projects.
They noted that the project, when completed will reduce the flooding problem in Warri .
However, some of the respondents complained that the project has impeded vehicular movements in the area .
One of them, Madam Juan Onose noted that the area was one of the commercial hubs in Warri with the location of commercial banks and two major markets, Ogbe – Ijoh ( popularly called iron or sand sand ) Market and Main Market.
She therefore appealed that the contractor handling the project should be fast on it .
It was observed that makeshifts stalls in the age long market of Sand Sand ( Iron ) market construction were demolished to make way for the drainage project .
