Ogwashi-Uku Bridge Collapse: Chukwunwike Appeals To Commuters To Use Alternative Routes

The Executive Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area, Hon. Pastor Jude Chukwunwike has appealed to commuters plying the ever busy Ogwashi-Uku/Ughelli Road to make use of other alternative roads pending the reconstruction of the bridge.
The Ubuh bridge which is located on the road linking Aniocha South to Aboh, Ughelli, and Sapele caved in on Monday.
During his visit to the site this morning, the council chairman who was in company of the Secretary to the Local Government, Prince Emordi Okonjo assured that repair works has commenced immediately.

He however, advised road users, save pedestrians to follow alternative routes to avoid being stranded.
In his words:
“the site engineer has assured us that the bridge will be reconstructed within 3 working days.
I want to appeal to residents to bear with us as we are doing everything humanly possible to ensure that the bridge is back and better.”
