BREAKING: Obasa Makes History, Reelected Speaker Of Lagos Assembly For 3rd Time
Member representing the Agege 1 constituency of Lagos State at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has been reelected as Speaker of the House for the third term.
Obasa, the most ranking member of the House, who was nominated by Hon. Temitope Adewale, and seconded by Sylvester Ogunkelu, emerged Speaker of the 10th Assembly on Tuesday morning.
Recall that Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday morning proclaimed the 10th Assembly of the state for the commencement of Legislative duties.
The Lagos House of Assembly has a total of 40 members.
The All Progressives Congress party has 38 members while Labour Party has two members representing their various constituencies across the state.

The lawmakers also elected Hon. Mojisola Lasbat Meranda as the Deputy Speaker.
Hon. Noheem Adams, the Deputy Majority Leader in the ninth Assembly, was elected as the new Majority Leader while Hon. Adedamola Kasunmu was elected the Deputy Majority Leader.
Hon. Mojeed Fatai of Ibeju Lekki 1 was elected as the Chief Whip while Hon. David Setonji was elected the Deputy Chief Whip.
