Uganda People’s Defence Forces Deploy Air Defence Power Against ADF Rebels Who Killed 42 Learners In Private School

The Uganda People’s Defence Forces have deployed air defence power against the suspected ADF ruminants who attacked and killed learners at Mpondwe secondary school in Mpondwe Lhubiriha town council in Kasese district.

Maj. Gen. Dick Olumu, the Operations Commander of the UPDF’s Operation Shujja in the Democratic Republic of Congo said the deployment of the Air Defense was majorly to apprehend the suspects, rescue the abducted civilians and militarily engage any of their compliances.

Gen. Dick who said the Kasese Resident District Commissioner, Lt. Joe Walunsimbi would address the masses later today, added that the bodies that were burnt beyond recognition would be taken to Fort Portal for DNA tests. Gen.

The surviving Matron at the school disclosed that the suspects who ate her food and carried more later, said they could not kill her for being a breastfeeding mother.

Earlier, Mr. Selevest Mapoze, the local council three chairperson for Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council said the suspects applied suspect bombs to burn dormitories and kill students whose bodies are beyond recognition but would be identifies by science.

Hon. Florence Kabugho, the Kasese District Woman Member of Parliament asked security to do their best to rescue the abductees and apprehend the suspects.

Meanwhile, the death toll of students killed by suspected Allied Democratic Forces-ADF at Mpondwe community secondary school in Kasese district has risen to 42.

Defence Ministry spokesperson Col. Felix Kulaigya said the attacks happened at 11.30 pm yesterday night.

Kulaigya adds that President Yoweri Museveni has dispatched education ministry officials to commiserate with the school.

According to Kulaigya, the chief of defence forces Gen Wilson Mbasu Mbadi and commander land forces are joining the division commander on the ground for spot assessment.

22 students were killed in attack, 17 students killed by bomb as rebels left the school, 2 residents and 1 security dead.

Authorities are yet to confirm the exact number of those abducted by the ADF rebels.

Kasese District Chairperson Mr.Erifaz Muhindi, Kasese district woman MP Florence Kabugho, MP Kasese Municipality Ferigo Kambale, religious and representatives of Obusinga Bwa Rwenzururu have thronged Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council to mourn their beloved ones.
