Spokesman for Iwevbo Community Elders Council, Edevbie O. Emmanuel has clarified issues between him and his Royal highness, the Enogie of Orogho Dukedom, HRH, Osayande Patrick Akenzua.

Recall that Edevbie was arrested on the 29th of June, 2023, by policemen from Edo State over the issue resulting from the PIA that led to some publications by him (Edevbie) who was at a time a representative to Enogie in Iwevbo Community.

He faithfully served for a period of ten years and later made the Enogie Representative to Obanakoro Community based on their then close relationship before the ongoing crisis over the PIA provisions in sections 234 and 235 that provided for the development of Host communities where the critical operations are carried out by the settlor.

In a phone conversation with Oasis Magazine, he said that he needed to set the records straight.

Speaking on what led to his arrest by the Edo State Police Command as regards the petition written by Charles Eghaghwe on behalf of the Enogie of Orogho, Engineer Patrick pondering on section 24 of cyber crime and classified as Cyber stalking and interpreted for claims of defamation of his Character, he said: “I want to use this medium to tell the general public that there is actually a misunderstanding that has been going on between me and the Highness’, There is no doubt or customarily that history has it that, I Edevbie O Emmanuel is a die hard man of the Enogie of Orogho. We have been in the struggle together for the betterment of the Dom, even at a point I turned my back on my people to favor the Enogie position; some persons face the sanctions of the law over misdemeanor, the issue or the misunderstanding between I and the Enogie, as a result of my publication are statements of facts from one of the petitioner, one Mr Stanly, the present Dukedom coordinator who reliably informed me of his said petitions to the EFCC that the Highness paid he and his group the sum of #18,00.000. 00 to settle out of court in a follow up of the petition in EFCC., even the court affidavit document made without my very consent which i had already disclaimed was all sent to me by Mr. Stanly, which made the Enogie pick offence and classified it as cybercrime relying on Section 24 of the Cybercrime as categorized as cyberstalking.

“My publications was never to damage the image of the Enogie, my father and my man in the struggle for development of the common man. I wouldn’t have access to this information without the effort of Mr. Stanly who was one of the petitioners as at that time, the present coordinator of the Dukedom was the one who informed me with other necessary information, even my agitation for a scholarship slot given by Seplat oil development Company for indigent members of the community.

Amd that I have to stand on my right that if they had kept quiiet and allowed the Enogie, he wouldn’t have been in the position of the affairs of the oil matter. That when they took the issue of the money paid for the pipeline right of way to EFCC, that I was also among the persons to be investigated then but he was surprised that the EFCC didn’t invite me for questioning, that the Enogie was advised by the commission and some illustrious Sons of Orogho Community and they were settled out of court and he gave them #18,000.000.00.

This information can also be confirmed by pastor Robbison Owhowjerhi who was informed by Imaru, one of the petitioner, because they were all together when the matter was being settled but Osaro Imaru refused to give them the Iwevbo people out of the #18,000.000.00. So, I was not there when the Enogie settled them but Mr. Stanley made this and some other information avaliable to me. Informations such as the scholarship shared by only Orogho Community that I have been fighting for and how the latest money #36,000,000.00 for land acquired by the Oil Company in Iwevbo Community was shared by the Orogho Council of elders representatives, that on instruction of Highness. There is no way Stanley will deny the fact that he was not the one that gave me the information about what he was settled with. Because he even went ahead to tell me that if not that he had fought for his right, they wouldn’t have been given the truck contract that is meant to run obanakorho route in care of late Jackson Orogun that he is using today.’

He continued: “That the #18, 000.000. 00 was used to settle them and the truck was given to him by the Enogie from PRESCO to settle their issues.

This conversation was as a result of my agitation that why should the truck be collected from my late brother, Jackson Orogun and given to another Person from Orogho Community person. So, he explained and made himself clean and clear from the issue from my agitation.”
