Jite Brown: Egbetamah Heads To Appeal Court, Says Cash And Carry Judgment Cannot Stand

Member representing Udu in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Collins Ovie Egbetamah has directed his lawyers to immediately appeal the judgement of the House of Assembly election petition tribunal which returned Chief Jite Brown as winner, stressing that the ‘cash and carry’ judgment of the tribunal is a travesty of justice that cannot stand.

Reacting shortly after the tribunal delivered it’s judgement on Tuesday, Hon Egbetamah explained that there was nothing to justify the declaration of his opponent as winner of the election as his team was aware of the millions of naira that exchanged hands just to return Jite Brown as winner.

He expressed dismal and gross disappointment with the judgement which he described as gross display of indiscipline by the Judges.

“We knew what happened before now. It would be difficult for the APC to get judgement here in Delta state as all the judges were already compromised before now. We knew of the meeting in Sapele where so much money was warehoused to the Judges through their agents. But their coup against Udu people will fail. Jite Brown who accused everybody of anti-party activities should be ashamed of himself. There is no way he can short change the will of the people”, he added, calling on his teeming supporters and well wishers to remain calm as Udu was going to remain firm in the hands of the APC.

He also appealed to the relevant authority to sanction the bribe-taking, corrupt and evil members of the tribunal for importing aliens issues not pleaded by the parties to the dispute into their decision all for money that exchanged hands.
