Teachers’ Recruitment: Abanum Applauds Oborevwori, Calls For Merit-Based Exercise
Chief (Engr.) Ifeanyi Abanum, Chairman, Artisans Association, Delta State, has applauded the Executive Governor of the state, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Francis Oborewvori for his prompt intervention in the Local Government Education Authority.
Chief Abanum who also doubles as the Vice Chairman of Nigeria Automobile Technicians Association (NATA), stated that the ongoing Local Government Education Authority recruitment of teachers and non teaching staff within the state is properly aligned not only to create massive employment in the state, but to also rejuvenate the Delta State Primary Education Sector.
Abanum emphasized that this positive development will not only put an end to the shortages of teachers and others staff in our primary schools, but will also usher in capable hands to rejuvenate the sector in a way that will ensure educational viability in the near future.

Chief Abanum, while commending the Governor of for his “people oriented policies”, also appealed for the agents in charge of the recruitments in all Local Government Areas of the state to shun favouritism and strictly ensure that the recruitment should be based on merit, since a teacher cannot give what he or she does not have.
