FCT Minster, Nyesom Wike alongside the Hon Minister of State for the FCT on Monday met with contractors handling critical projects abandoned within the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Wike, who disclosed this in a statement, added that “the meeting was an opportunity to exchange views, extract commitments and develop a working plan,” just as he said that as they “are determined to ensure contractors return to site and complete their jobs.”

He added “to achieve this goal the FCTA would be doing things differently.”

In his words: “We would tie our Internally Generated Revenue to specific projects to ensure they are adequately funded. We also wouldn’t spread ourselves too thin but focus on completing a set of projects per period.”

Adding: “We would not owe contractors and we would not accept excuses.”

Meanwhile, he said that all contractors are expected to perform optimally, saying: “we would closely and carefully monitor each project to ensure they finished within our set schedule and specifications.”
